Fire breaks out at Moscow Satire Theater

Update: About two and a half hours after the fire started, the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry reported that it had been extinguished. The fire covered an area of about 2,700 square feet, and 50 people required evacuation. All performances scheduled for January 28 have been canceled.

A fire has broken out at the Moscow Satire Theater in the city center, reports TASS, citing emergency services.

“Smoke is rising from the roof of the building. A significant contingent of the city’s fire and rescue services are heading to the scene,” a source told TASS.

According to preliminary information from Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry, no one has been injured.
