Russian forces launch missiles at Kyiv and Kharkiv, reportedly killing 18, trapping others under rubble
Update: Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that 18 people were killed and 130 people were injured in the attack.
Russian forces launched missiles at Kyiv early Tuesday. Multiple buildings and cars were damaged in the attack, according to city administration. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that seven people were injured.
The same morning, missiles also hit Kharkiv, destroying part of a residential building and possibly trapping people under the rubble, said Mayor Ihor Terekhov. Kharkiv Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported that two women were killed in the strikes. Parts of the city are currently without power or water.
Authorities in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region also reported casualties. Governor Serhiy Lysak said that one person was killed in Pavlohrad, and another person was injured.
