Russia’s Defense Ministry reports that on Thursday evening, air defense systems intercepted 36 drones over Russian-annexed Crimea. Another drone was shot down over Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.

Novorossiysk’s Unified Emergency Dispatch Service told RIA Novosti that residents reported an explosion in the city, which is located in Krasnodar Krai.

Earlier on Thursday, Russia’s Defense Ministry said that it repelled a Ukrainian missile attack on Crimea. According to the ministry, Russian air defense forces shot down ten aircraft-guided missiles over the occupied peninsula. Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk referred to the attack as a “Ukrainian operation.” The Ukrainian General Staff said that Ukrainian forces hit a Russian command post near Sevastopol in annexed Crimea.
