Russia’s Defense Ministry said Thursday that it repelled a Ukrainian missile attack on Crimea.

According to the ministry, Russian air defense forces shot down ten aircraft-guided missiles over the occupied peninsula.

At around 4:40 p.m. local time, Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russian-installed governor of Sevastopol, reported that an air raid alert was in effect in the city. An hour later, he said that Russian forces had shot down “several aerial targets” over Sevastopol.

Pieces of the downed “targets” fell on a residential building in the city, according to Razvozhayev. He said preliminary reports suggest that one person was injured.
