Authorities in Russia’s Belgorod region to evacuate city residents who wish to leave because of shelling
Authorities in Russia’s Belgorod region will help evacuate residents who wish to leave the city of Belgorod due to recent shelling, said Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
“I see several requests on social media where people write, ‘We’re scared, help us get somewhere safe.’ Of course we’ll help! We’ve already transported several families,” Gladkov wrote.
He said that those who want to leave should contact the governor’s office, the mayor, or emergency services.
Gladkov clarified that residents would be evacuated to other areas of the region further from the border with Ukraine and that they would be able to stay there “as long as necessary.”
