U.S. announces $250 million military aid package for Ukraine, depleting allocated funding

Source: Meduza

The United States is sending a new military aid package worth $250 million to Ukraine, which includes ammunition for air defense systems, multiple rocket launcher systems, artillery, as well as anti-tank weapons and other equipment. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said it would be the last such aid package in 2023.

Earlier, White House National Security Council Spokesperson John Kirby said that after sending this package, the funds for aiding Ukraine would be depleted. He called on Congress to expedite the approval process for additional security funding, which also includes funds to assist U.S. allies.

In October, U.S. President Joe Biden sent a request to Congress for more than $100 billion for security, including $61 billion for aid to Ukraine. The bill has yet to pass due to disagreements between the Republican and Democratic parties.
