Estonia’s Internal Affairs Ministry is ready to find and extradite draft-eligible Ukrainians living in Estonia back to Ukraine, said Interior Minister Lauri Läänemets, according to Estonian Public Broadcasting (ERR).

“If Ukraine needs, Estonia can search for this person and extradite them to Ukraine. We generally know where these people are and what they do. Most of them go to work, have a residence in Estonia,” said the minister.

Läänemets added that he will soon officially suggest signing an agreement between Estonia and Ukraine, which would allow the extradition of military-aged Ukrainian men. Estonia’s current laws only allow the extradition of foreigners in cases where they have been criminally prosecuted.

According to the Estonian Social Affairs Ministry’s data, there are about 36,000 Ukrainian refugees under temporary protection in Estonia.
