Russia to provide one-time payment to children ‘injured by Ukrainian aggression’

Russian authorities have announced a one-time payment of 100,000 rubles ($1087) to children who have suffered war-related injuries in the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People's Republic” (“DNR”) and “Luhansk People's Republic” (“LNR”), as well as in Russian-annexed parts of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

The decree, “On measures of social support for families with children who have suffered from Ukraine’s aggression,” was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and also applies to children “in the territory of the Russian Federation, adjacent to special military operation locations.”

In March, the International Criminal Court in The Hague (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for Putin and Russian Children's Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova. According to the ICC, Putin and Lvova-Belova bear personal responsibility for the forced deportation of children from occupied Ukrainian territories to Russia.
