Finland to reopen two border crossings with Russia

Source: Meduza

The Finnish authorities officially announced that they will reopen two border crossings with Russia. This was also reported by the Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat. The outlet notes that the border crossings were reopened to allow Finnish citizens to freely return to the country.

According to Ilta-Sanomat, this doesn’t exclude the possibility that the border crossings will be closed again in the future, if the crisis on the border continues. Finland first started closing border crossings with Russia due to an influx of asylum seekers from countries in Africa and the Middle East.
