Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov suggested temporarily cancelling Russia’s upcoming presidential election in 2024 due to the “special military operation.” Kadyrov said this during a flashmob in Grozny in honor of Vladimir Putin’s birthday.

“I suggest that now, while the SVO is underway, we unanimously make the decision to have one candidate in the elections — Mr. Vladimir Putin. Or temporarily cancel the elections because we have no other person who can now protect out country,” said Kadyrov.
