Young boy and grandmother dead, over 20 injured in Russian attack on Kharkiv

A Russian missile strike hit Kharkiv’s Kyivskyi and Osnovianskyi districts, damaging two multi-story residential buildings and a three-story building and killing a 10-year-old boy and his grandmother, said Kharkiv Regional Governor Oleh Synyehubov.

Rescue workers found the child’s body in the rubble. According to the regional prosecutor’s office, as of 10:00 local time, there were 25 known victims. Synyehubov reported that an 11-month-old baby was among the injured.

No air alert was declared in Kharkiv before the missile strike. A comment made by a Ukrainian Air Force representative suggests the missiles flew along a ballistic trajectory and weren’t detected in advance.
