Russian military official says General Staff not planning new mobilization drive and will not send mandatory service conscripts to war
At a briefing dedicated to the Russian military’s fall conscription drive on Friday, Defense Ministry official Vladimir Tsimlyansky said that the General Staff is not planning another round of mobilization.
Tsimlyansky also vowed that conscripts fulfilling their mandatory service requirement will not be sent to the annexed territories in Ukraine “for participation in the tasks of the special military operation there.”
“I want to emphasize that the General Staff has no plans to conduct additional mobilization measures. The number of people who want to enlist in the military service by contract and people who have already signed contracts for military service as part of the Russian Armed Forces, as well as volunteers who have decided to take part in the special military operation, is sufficient to perform the tasks at hand,” Tsimlyansky said.
