Norway to join Poland, Finland, and Baltic countries in banning vehicles with Russian license plates

Norway will ban most vehicles with Russian license plates from entering the country, becoming the last Schengen Area country bordering Russia to do so, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) reported on Wednesday.

“We’re currently studying how this will be done, and we’ll present effective measures in the near future,” said Eivind Vad Petersson, the state secretary for the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.

Petersson did not specify whether Norway will ban vehicles registered in Russia from operating on the country’s territory, as Finland did, or will only ban them from crossing into the country.
