Drone crashes into oil depot in Russia’s Oryol region
Two drones were shot down overnight on September 17 in the Moscow region, reports the city’s mayor Sergey Sobyanin and Russia’s Defense Ministry.
According to the mayor, air defense systems downed the drones in the Moscow region’s Istrinsky and Ramensky districts. No one was injured and no damage was reported.
Oryol governor Andrey Klychkov also said that a drone “crashed into a non-residential target” in the city’s Zheleznodorozhny district. The Telegram channel Shot wrote that the drone crashed into an oil depot, damaging one of the fuel tanks. Klychkov later confirmed this information, adding that no one was injured in the attack and that the fuel tank fire was extinguished by morning.
In addition, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that another six drones were shot down by air defense systems in annexed Crimea.
Russia’s Tula region was also attacked by drones. According to the Telegram channel Baza, a drone attempted to attack reservoirs at the Logistics Center No. 1 in the region’s Uzlovsky district, but was suppressed by electronic warfare systems. According to local authorities, no one was injured in the attack and no significant damage was reported.
