Customs officer arrested in Krasnoyarsk for alleged distribution of Freedom of Russia legion leaflets

According to TASS and local Krasnoyarsk outlet NGS24, an inspector for Siberian electronic customs has been arrested in Krasnoyarsk for allegedly distributing leaflets about the Freedom of Russia legion, which fights on the side of Ukraine against Russia.

Ostorozhno, Novosti! writes that the 48-year-old suspect has worked in the customs authorities for more than 20 years.

On September 5, a customs officer was arrested while he was distributing the leaflets, reported Telegram channel Shot. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against him for public calls to terrorist acts and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization (Articles 205.2 and 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The arrest of the customs officer and the subsequent criminal case have not been officially reported. A TASS source claims that he’s also suspected of passing the information on customs officers to the Freedom of Russia legion. According to the agency, the suspect has been arrested. NGS24 says he faces up to 25 years in prison.
