Zelensky: ‘Putin killed Prigozhin — at least that’s the information we have’

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a speech in Kyiv on Friday that Vladimir Putin “killed” Wagner Group founder Yevgeny Prigozhin, according to BBC News Russian.

“Putin is deflated, as a man and as a politician,” Zelensky said. “He killed Prigozhin — at least that’s the information we have.”

The Ukrainian leader didn’t specify what information his government has regarding Putin’s possible involvement in the plane crash that killed Prigozhin, but he did say that the mercenary leader’s death means “one less terrorist” in the world.

“The Russians’ morale has fallen, because they were using the Wagnerites as cover, pushing them forward and not letting them come back. I think they’ve now lost this protection, this hiding behind the lives of mercenaries. For us, that’s definitely a plus,” Zelensky said.
