Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has told journalists that the Russian and Turkish Presidents plan to hold talks in Sochi on September 4.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported on Erdoğan’s plan to meet with Putin in Russia. According to Bloomberg, the resumption of the grain deal will be discussed, among other things. Russian authorities pulled out of the deal on July 17, saying that part of the agreements regarding fertilizer exports from Russia had not been implemented. Russian troops then began shelling southern Ukraine, destroying port infrastructure that had been used in the grain deal.

Erdoğan says that he intends to promote the resumption of the deal in an “expanded” format, saying that Western countries should help turn the agreement into the basis for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
