On September 1, Vladimir Putin will give an open lesson as part of Russia’s state-designed, mandatory “patriotic” lesson series, Important Conversations. According to the Kremlin’s press service, 30 high-achieving schoolchildren will attend.

On the same day, according to Putin’s press service, the Russian president will hold a video call with Kyrgyzstani president Sadyr Japarov to “launch the construction of three general education schools with Russian-language instruction” in the cities of Bishkek, Batken, and Karakol.

Additionally, Putin will remotely participate in the opening ceremonies of new schools in five regions of Russia.

Open lessons taught by Putin have become a tradition in Russia. Last year, he traveled to Kaliningrad, where he spoke to students about the war in Ukraine, telling them it was launched in 2014 by Kyiv and that Russia’s mission is to “stop the war and protect people.”
