The head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov expressed his condolences to the family and friends of Wagner Group founder Yevgeny Prigozhin.
Kadyrov called Prigozhin “an important person on a national scale,” but noted that the head of Wagner Group recently “either didn’t see or didn’t want to see the full picture of what was happening in the country” and put “personal ambitions” above “matters of paramount national importance.”
“Everything else could be solved later. But that’s just how he was, Prigozhin, with his iron character and his desire to get what he wanted right then and there. Undoubtedly, he made a great contribution to the SVO. And that credit can’t be taken away from him. His death is a great loss for the entire state,” Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram channel.
