Russia’s Defense Ministry reports drone attack on military airfield in Novgorod region

On August 19, Russia’s defense ministry reported that a Ukrainian copter-type drone attacked a military airfield in the Novgorod region.

According to the ministry, the Russian military noticed the drone as it approached the airfield, but was unable to shoot it down. “This caused a fire to break out at the aircraft parking lot on the territory of the military airfield, which was quickly put out by firefighters,” reported the ministry.

One plane was damaged in the attack, according to the defense ministry’s data. There were no casualties. The Telegram channel Overheard Veliky Novgorod reported that the airfield is located in the town of Soltsy.
