Dozens of Russian soldiers were killed or injured in a Ukrainian drone attack on Russian-annexed Crimea overnight on August 12, writes newspaper Ukrainian Pravda, citing sources in Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU).

The outlet’s sources reported that the SBU was behind the attack, which used 17 drones. Its target was a Russian logistics base in the vicinity of Yevpatoria.

The drones attacked a military barracks, an area where automotive equipment was parked, and water tanker vehicles. The publication notes that the scale of the damage is still being assessed, but that the latest information suggests that the attack damaged many pieces of equipment.

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on the morning of August 12 that it had repelled a 20-drone attack on Crimea. The ministry said there were no damages or casualties.

However, Telegram channels began posting video footage showing an overnight attack on the village of Novoozerne, about 30 kilometers (18.5 miles) from Yevpatoria, where a Russian military base is located.
