20 drones attacked annexed Crimea overnight on August 12, reports Russia’s Defense Ministry.
According to the ministry, 14 of the drones were destroyed by air defense systems, and the remaining six were scrambled using electronic warfare tactics. The Defense Ministry says there were no injuries or damages as a result of the attacks.
Oleg Kryuchkov, adviser to the governor of annexed Crimea, had earlier reported that air defense systems were working on the Crimean peninsula. The Crimean Bridge was also closed to traffic overnight between 1:30 a.m. and 3:15 a.m.
Telegram channel Krimsky Veter posted footage reportedly showing a nighttime attack on the village of Novoozerne, in the western part of the annexed peninsula. According to the channel, the village hosts a Russian military storage base with a large amount of equipment.
Later on August 12, the Russian authorities reported two missile attacks on the Crimean bridge.
