Russian troops attacked Kyiv with Shahed drones in the early hours of May 2, reports the Kyiv municipal military administration.
Serhiy Popko, the head of the administration, says that Ukraine’s air defenses found and destroyed all the drones.
He added that this was the first attack on Kyiv with the Iranian-made drones in 12 days.
The head of the Kyiv regional military administration, Ruslan Kravchenko, said that wreckage from the drones fell in two areas, damaging three private homes. The wreckage started a fire in one home, but it was quickly put out. According to Kravchenko, one resident sustained an injury to his leg.
Ukraine’s Air Forces later announced that Russian troops had launched eight Shahed suicide drones and three Kalibr cruise missiles into Ukrainian territory on July 2 and that all were shot down by air defense systems.
