Poland to boost border security amid Wagner redeployment to Belarus

The Polish authorities will strengthen the defenses on the country’s eastern border in response to the transfer of Wagner Group forces to Belarus, Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński has announced.

According to Kaczyński, the presence of Wagner mercenaries could potentially be dangerous for Ukraine as well as for Poland and Lithuania. “This could mean a new phase in the hybrid war, and a much more complex one than the one we’ve been facing so far,” he said.

The deputy prime minister said the new measures will involve increasing both the number of military personnel stationed on the border and the number of fortifications there.
