Addressing military personnel at a ceremony at the Kremlin on Monday, Vladimir Putin told the troops they effectively stopped a civil war, praising them for acting with precision and coordination during Yevgeny Prigozhin’s armed rebellion against Moscow on Saturday.

The president acknowledged that Russian Air Force pilots were killed, saying they did their duty “with honor” and calling for a minute of silence.

The entire speech lasted just over three minutes.
