Iceland to suspend embassy operations in Russia

Source: Meduza

Iceland announced Friday that it will suspend the operations of its embassy in Moscow beginning on August 1.

“This is not an easy decision, [but] the current situation simply does not make it viable for the small foreign service of Iceland to operate an embassy in Russia,” the country’s foreign minister said in a statement.

The ministry’s press service noted that the decision to suspend embassy operations does not constitute a severance of diplomatic relations.
