At least one dead after overnight Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine

Russian troops attacked multiple Ukrainian territories with kamikaze drones and cruise missiles on Thursday night. According to Ukraine’s Air Force Command, Russia launched a total of six cruise missiles from Tu-95 strategic bombers as well as 16 Shahed drones. Ukrainian air defense forces reportedly shot down 10 of the drones and four of the missiles.

The Ukrainian authorities declared air raid alerts in several regions, including the Kyiv region and the capital itself, according to UNIAN. Explosions were reported in the Rivne and Zhytomyr regions. Falling debris from downed weapons damaged residential buildings, killed at least one person, and injured at least three people in the Zhytomyr region, according to Governor Vitaliy Bunechko.
