Kursk governor blames Ukraine for drone attack on power substation

Roman Starovoyt, governor of Russia’s Kursk region, has reported a drone attack on a power substation in the village of Popovo-Lezhachi. After two bombs were dropped onto the facility the night before June 7, power was cut off from both Popovo-Lezhachi and Tetkino, another nearby village.

Starovoyt’s message suggests that undetonated explosives might still be left at the facility. According to the governor, a worker servicing the substation after the attack was wounded by shrapnel and is in hospital. Emergency repair works, Starovoyt writes, will continue after the demining teams recheck the area.

The official blamed the Ukrainian military for the attack.
