Ukraine’s military intelligence reports Russian colonel killed in Belgorod

Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate reports that Andrey Stesev, a colonel in the Russian Army, was killed in the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, in the early hours of June 5. The agency posted a military ID bearing that name.

The Ukrainian intelligence reports that Andrey Stesev is the senior officer of the Belgorod operational group. He previously commanded the 104th Airborne Assault Regiment of Russia’s Airborne Forces, the directorate says.

The Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) and Freedom for Russia legion, which fight for Ukraine, have also announced that colonel Andrey Stesev was killed in Novaya Tavolzhanka. The Freedom of Russia legion says that Stesev was “killed in a firefight, as an officer with a weapon in his hands.”
