Two-year-old girl, killed in Russian strike on Dnipropetrovsk, found in the rubble of a ruined building

On June 3, rescue workers found the body of a two-year-old girl in the rubble of a building destroyed by Russian shelling in the Dnipropetrovsk region, reports regional governor Serhiy Lisak. Lisak says that a total of 22 people, including five children, were injured in the attack.

“An enemy rocket fell between two two-story buildings, partially destroying both of them. 10 private homes, cars, stores, and a gas pipeline were damaged,” Lisak said.

The governor added that Russian troops continued to strike the Dnipropetrovsk region into the early hours of June 4. The city of Nikopol took artillery fire, while air defenses shot down a drone and two cruise missiles over the region.

Ukraine’s Air Forces reported that overnight on June 3–4, they shot down a total of four cruise missiles (out of six launched by Russian forces) and three suicide drones (out of five launched over Ukraine).

Russia’s Defense Ministry addressed the strike in a daily briefing, saying that “a high-precision ground-based weapon struck a workshop for manufacturing Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles” near the city of Dnipro, according to Interfax.
