Russia fires drones and cruise missiles at Kyiv in sixth attack in six days

The Russian military launched a new wave of drone and missile strikes on Kyiv on Thursday night. The Kyiv authorities noted that this was the sixth air attack on the city in six days.

According to Kyiv City Military Administration head Serhii Popko, Russia carried out multiple drone attacks on the Ukrainian capital from various directions simultaneously while also launching cruise missiles at the city from strategic bombers around the Caspian Sea.

Ukrainian air defenses downed more than 30 Russian weapons in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, Popko said, adding that he did not yet have information about casualties or infrastructure damage resulting from the attacks.

Ukraine’s General Staff reported that Russia launched 15 cruise missiles and 18 kamikaze drones on Kyiv. “All of these air targets were destroyed,” read the military’s statement.
