Two oil refineries attacked by drones in Russia’s Krasnodar region

The Afipsky oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region was attacked by drones on Tuesday night, according to Governor Veniamin Kondratyev.

“Fire on the territory of the Afipsky oil refinery in the Seversky District. One of the oil fuel distillation units is on fire. The blaze has been contained to a 100-square-meter (1,076-square-foot) area,” he wrote on Telegram.

Kondratyev said nobody was injured in the attack. He later reported that the fire had been extinguished.

Russian Telegram channels reported that the region’s Ilsky oil refinery also came under attack. According to the channel Baza, a drone crashed on the territory of the facility, sparking an explosion. Nobody was injured and the blast did not spark a fire, the channel reported. According to the channel Shot, a drone crashed at the site but did not detonate. Krasnodar authorities later confirmed that a drone crashed at the facility but said nobody was injured and no infrastructure was damaged.
