Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of Russia’s Belgorod region, says that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have shelled a temporary civilian shelter for citizens evacuated from the Shebekinsky district.
According to Gladkov, casualties include both wounded and killed. He promised to share details of the events later, after visiting the site of the incident.
The Telegram channel 112 reports that one person was killed and another two injured in the shelling.
The Belgorod authorities have been relocating residents of border areas, which have come under artillery fire recently, to temporary shelters. On May 25, Gladkov reported the evacuation of 230 residents of the Grayvoron district, where an armed group fighting for Ukraine managed to infiltrate earlier in the week.
