Russian court extends arrest of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich by three months
Moscow’s Lefortovo District Court extended the arrest of reporter Evan Gershkovich until August 30. Gershkovich, who is a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, has been charged with espionage. The court decision was made in a closed hearing since the evidence in the case is classified.
On March 30, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) announced the arrest of Evan Gershkovich, a U.S. citizen and a correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, on suspicion of spying for the American government.
