After Moscow car crash involving Aurus Senat, Telegram channels report vehicle linked to Patriarch Kirill
A car crash involving an Aurus Senat and a Volvo occurred in central Moscow on Monday morning. The Telegram channel Baza reported that one person was injured but that he refused hospitalization.
Both Baza and the channel 112 said that an Aurus with the same license plate number as the one involved in the crash has previously been assigned to Russian Orthodox Church head Patriarch Kirill.
However, a source from the Church denied these reports to state-run news outlet Interfax. “Right now, the Aurus transporting Patriarch Kirill is pulling up to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior,” said the source.
The Russian automaker Aurus makes the vehicles used to transport the country’s top officials and their motorcades.
