Russian troops launched 25 cruise missiles overnight on May 9. According to Ukraine’s Air Force, 23 of the missiles were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses.
The head of Kyiv’s City Military Administration, Serhii Popko, reported that air defenses downed 15 rockets aimed at Kyiv. The city’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said that debris from a downed missile fell on a private residence, sparking a fire, which was extinguished. No one was injured.
In Dnipro, debris from a downed rocket fell on a four-story residential building, injuring a 32-year-old woman, reported the region’s governor, Serhiy Lysak. According to Lysak, a total of eight missiles were fired at Dnipropetrovsk region, all of which were shot down.
