Russian prosecutors have requested a 12-year prison sentence for Lilia Chanysheva, a former regional coordinator for Alexey Navalny’s organization, another top associate of the jailed opposition politician said on Wednesday.

Chanysheva led Team Navalny’s Ufa headquarters from 2017–2021. In November 2021, six months after the politician’s network of field offices was outlawed by the Russian authorities, she was arrested on charges of helping create an “extremist” organization.
