Ukrainian court seizes assets of Oksana Marchenko, wife of Viktor Medvedchuk
According to Ukrainian intelligence (SBU), a Ukrainian court has seized assets from Oksana Marchenko, wife of Viktor Medvedchuk, worth more than one billion hryvnias (~$27 million).
They say the case concerns a 13.7% stake in Zaporizhzhia Ferroalloy Plant, the largest metallurgical company in Europe. According to the SBU, Marchenko owned the assets through four offshore companies.
“The seizure of the assets will protect them from being sold or re-registered to front men, and will further allow them to be transferred to the benefit of our state,” the SBU said in a statement.
The press service of the agency also recalled that Ukrainian authorities had already seized property of Marchenko totaling more than six billion hryvnias (~$163 million).
Marchenko now reportedly lives in Moscow.
