Ukrainian court seizes property worth 150 million USD from Oksana Marchenko, Viktor Medvedchuk’s wife
A Ukrainian court seized the property of Oksana Marchenko, wife of former Ukrainian pro-Russian politician Viktor Medvedchuk. Marchenko is suspected of financing Russian law enforcement agencies.
According to the Ukrainian Security Service, the seized assets are valued at more than 5.6 billion hryvnias (more than 152 million USD).
The seized property includes two plots of land, four homes in Kyiv and annexed Crimea, 10 cars, and shares in energy, investment, agro-industrial, and telecommunications enterprises.
Marchenko allegedly “used the companies to carry out subversive activities against Ukraine,” transferring millions of rubles to the Russian National Guard and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea, and paying taxes to the Russian Federation.
Meduza has reported that Marchenko now likely lives in Moscow, with her and Medvedchuk’s daughter. Medvedchuk recently said that he’s now “forced” to live in Moscow.
