A thermal power plant in the Russian border city of Belgorod caught on fire on Sunday night. In the hours that followed, Telegram channels and local news groups reported that the blaze was a result of a drone attack.
According to the Telegram channel Baza, drones dropped explosives on two substations in the Belgorod region, causing fires at each site, and that the fires were extinguished within an hour.
The reports of drones have not been officially confirmed. Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported on Telegram that there were two fires in the region, but did not say what caused them. He later announced that the fires had been put out and that there were no injuries.
