Multiple Telegram channels reported that a drone carrying an explosive device crashed into a fence outside of the airport in Russia’s Belgorod region on Monday.
According to the channel Astra, the drone fell outside of Shukhov Airport at around 4:30 p.m. local time. SHOT reported that it was a “plane-type” vehicle.
The explosion caused by the crash reportedly damaged the fence and the airport’s alarm cable. No people were injured. The airport has been closed to civilian flights since the start of Russia’s full-scale war in Ukraine.
