Woman who held sign reading ‘Putin eats children’ at Alexey Moskalev’s custody hearing fined for ‘discrediting’ Russian army
A Tula court has issued a 50,000-ruble ($600) fine against Yelena Tarbayev, a St. Petersburg resident who protested at Alexey Moskalev’s custody hearing on Thursday, according to the independent outlet OVD-Info.
At the hearing, Tarbayev held a sign with the words “Putin eats children” and artwork that resembled the anti-war drawing Moskalev’s six-grade daughter, Masha, drew at school last April.
After Tarbayev began to feel unwell inside the court building, police reportedly lured her outside by promising to call an ambulance. According to witnesses, after Tarbayev left the building, she was arrested by eight security offices and taken to the police station, where officers wrote up a misdemeanor report.
