Alexey Moskalev awaiting deportation in Belarusian pre-trial detention center

Source: TASS

Alexey Moskalev, the single father from Russia’s Tula region who escaped house arrest after being sentenced to two years in prison on charges of “discrediting” the Russian army, is awaiting deportation in a Belarusian pre-trial detention center, according to Russia’s Interior Ministry and the Russian Embassy in Belarus.

Moskalev was arrested in Minsk on March 29. While the charges against him are officially related to posts he made on social media, Russian authorities first began targeting him after his sixth-grade daughter, Masha, drew an anti-war picture in school in April 2022.
