Jailed Russian opposition politician Alexey Navalny sent to ‘punishment cell’ for ‘improperly introducing himself’

Russian opposition politician Alexey Navalny, who’s currently serving a nine-year prison sentence, has been sent to a “punishment cell” for the 12th time in eight months. According to a post he made on Twitter, Navalny’s “offense” was “improperly introducing himself.”

“My luxurious and elite stay of almost two months in the ‘good’ cell (coffee and two books) has been heartlessly disrupted, and I’m being sent once again to the end of the hallway to the ‘bad’ cell (hot water and one book),” he wrote.

Navalny’s stay in the “bad cell” is slated to last 15 days.
