Russian serviceman who confessed killing civilian in Ukraine gets suspended prison sentence for ‘spreading fakes’
A military court in Khabarovsk has issued a 5.5-year suspended sentence in the case of Daniil Frolkin. Earlier, prosecution had requested a six-year prison term for Frolkin, who told the independent Russian publication iStories about killing a civilian in Andriivka, a village in the Kyiv region of Ukraine.
Frolkin spoke with iStories last summer. He told the publication that the civilian man he killed was acting as an informant for the Ukrainian army, and that he got an order to kill him from his commanding officer.
In December, it emerged that Frolkin was being prosecuted for disinformation about the Russian military.
