Russian chain Delicious, Full Stop applies for registration in Kazakhstan after McDonald’s exit
Local publication Vlast reported on January 16 that the restaurant chain Delicious, Full Stop, which replaced McDonaldʼs in Russia, had applied for the registration of its trademarks in Kazakhstan. This, according to the Ministry of Justice.
A trademark registration application containing the words “Delicious, Full Stop” was filed by the company Sistema PBO, which runs Delicious, Full Stop in Russia. The National Institute of Intellectual Property at the Ministry of Justice is considering the application.
In early January, a chain of restaurants operated by Food Solutions KZ announced that it would cease operations in the country under the McDonaldʼs brand because of supply constraints. The company promised to resume operations under a new local brand. RIA Novosti reported that Food Solutions KZ said it was not considering operating under the Delicious, Full Stop brand.
After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, McDonaldʼs suspended operations at most of its Russian restaurants and then announced it was leaving the country. The Russian chain was sold to entrepreneur Alexander Govor, and in June 2022, Delicious, Full Stop started opening in place of McDonaldʼs.
