Art dealer and Kremlin political consultant Marat Gelman placed on Russian federal ‘Wanted’ list
The Russian Ministry of the Interior (MVD) has placed Marat Gelman, an influential art dealer and political consultant, on the federal “Wanted” list.
Gelman’s entry on the list says that he is wanted on criminal charges, but doesn’t specify what they are.
At the close of 2021, the Russian Ministry of Justice designated Marat Gelman a “foreign agent.”
Last February, the art dealer was charged with a misdemeanor for violating the “foreign agent” markup guidelines when posting on Twitter.
Gelman curated The Ukrainian Way, an exhibition slated to open last September at the Saatchi Gallery in London, but canceled after a social-media backlash against the Russian-organized show.
