The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution to hold Russia financially responsible for invading Ukraine.

The document contains provisions for creating a register of war damages, and for establishing the mechanisms of collecting reparations from Russia.

93 counties, including the U.S. and the European Union, supported the resolution. 13, including Russia and China, voted against. Among the 74 who abstained were Brazil, India, Serbia, and Kazakhstan.

This is already the fifth UN resolution that condemns the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
