Russian Defense Ministry claims Ukrainian offensives in Kherson region and Donbas
The Russian Defense Ministry claims that the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out multiple offensives in Kherson, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions. The Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov wrote this on the ministry’s Telegram channel, adding that the AFU’s attempts to advance were foiled by the Russian army.
In the Kherson region, up to three AFU battalions tried to break the Russian defense in the Nova Kamianka–Chervonyi Yar direction, Konashenkov reported. Around Sukhanove, Ukrainian troops cut into the Russian defense lines, but “following the Russian command’s introduction of the tank reserve, and further ambush activities, the enemy suffered a significant defeat, and Ukrainian units fled in disorder,” Konashenkov said.
He also claims that Russian troops thwarted the AFU’s attempts to force a crossing of the Zherebets River near Nadiya, Stelmakhivka, and Makiivka in the Luhansk region, and Yampolivka in the Donetsk region. “Russian artillery fire and army aviation strikes drove the enemy back to initial positions,” Konashenkov said.
