Ukrainian forces shell Antonivskyi Bridge again, delaying reopening

Source: TASS

Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the Russian-backed occupation authorities in Ukraine’s Kherson region, said on Monday that the restoration of the Antonivskyi Bridge has been “pushed back” because Ukrainian troops shelled it again. “The storehouse of the construction workers who were building the bridge was burnt down, as well as some of the equipment — a concrete mixer. Nothing tragic, but the bridge’s reopening will be delayed a bit,” he said. Stremousov reported last Wednesday that the bridge would be reopened this week.

The Antonivskyi Bridge has been out of commission since July 27, when it was damaged by shelling from Ukrainian forces. Since then, the Russian military has only had two crossways to transport supplies over the Dnipro River, one of which is 40 miles from the center of Kherson.
